Hidden Beaches I Visited on the Weekend

Over the weekend husband and I went to catch up with friend out in Uluwatu area. While we were heading that direction (which rarely happened as we’re so comfortable with our own little buble in Seminyak area), we decided to visit some beaches in the area, hubby agreed as long as he get to surf. Fair enough.

So, the first beach we visited was Green Bowl Beach, I am not sure why it is called as such. It is quite easy to find it, but I think not so many people want to go down to the beach as it has a lot of stairs before you reach the beach. Local said there are around 330 steps on the stairs. Pfiuuhh. That’s why it is kind of make it hidden :-).

It is located in Uluwatu area, the entrance is right next to the abandoned Bali Cliff Hotel (this hotel used to be one of the famous hotel in Bali).

Entering the parking lot there are a few warungs (or small shops) in the corner selling cold drinks and there were also some older ladies selling handicrafts.

The place was fairly quite and I was so excited about it. Looking down to the beach water looks so blue and inviting. Descending was not a problem for me, but when it came to ascending the stairs, I got my karma for not exercising enough..Uugh… But in the end I made it back up.

The second beach we visited that day called Impossible Beach, another strange name for a beach in Bali. It is not like it’s impossible to reach. It is located next to another famous resort, Anantara Resort Uluwatu, and only a few hundred meters before the famous Uluwatu Temple, hidden under the cliff, but well known to worldwide surfers.

Reaching the parking area, there was some construction going on. Bali is developing full on, especially adding new hotels in every corners, in which I am not too happy about. It’s kind of over supplied already.

Anyway, to get to the beach we had to descend some stairs again, not too many this time, though.

The wave for surfing was much better on this beach, so hubby got ready with his gear and paddled away into the ocean and left me on the beach, which was not too bad as I enjoyed myself immersed in the crystal clear water and had the most relaxing time.
